Always keen to perfect and offer a wide variety of Québec wines to its adepts, the Orpailleur Vineyard is launching a new range of single varietal wines. Developed from new varieties, these wines are part of the Cuvée signature, a new line of wines offered by the Vineyard well known to Quebecers.
Charles-Henri de Coussergues, vintner and co-owner of the Route des vins Brome-Missisquoi, explains the arrival of these wines. “After years of sharpening our know-how, given the increasingly favourable temperatures and the quality of the soil, we wanted to expand our range of grape varieties and offer Quebecers a limited and very personal vintages, for the pleasure of sharing and discovery.”
To start, the Orpailleur Cuvée signature has a 2017 Chardonnay, a 2017 Cabernet Franc (both are aged in oak barrels for one year) and a Gewurztraminer 2018. There are respectively 2,500, 300 and 1,000 bottles of available for these three wines. Other wines will be added to these varieties over the coming years.
The three wines of the Cuvée signature are offered only at the Vineyard at $ 28 (tax included), as well as in some gourmet grocery stores. Even tastings of these wines will be very limited.
Be aware, these wines are very slightly filtered and may contain… a lot of love.
