Orpailleur Vineyard awarded two Double Gold medals at Finger Lakes International Wine Competition
Charles-Henri de Coussergues, Vintner and owner of Orpailleur Vineyard, is pleased to announce that two of its wines have been awarded the Double Gold medal at the 15th edition of the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. The Orpailleur White and the Orpailleur Ice Wine are the only Quebec wines to receive a Double Gold Medal. This is the most prestigious award of the contest, handed to the best wine in its class.
And there the competition was impressive! Over 3,708 wines were entered from 940 wineries at this 15th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, recently held in March 2015 in the state of New York. 72 internationally renowned judges had the challenging task of evaluating the wines from 27 different countries.
“The medals awarded to the Orpailleur Blanc and Orpailleur Ice Wine is a testimony of how our wines appeal to the most discerning palate, measuring favourably against wines from all over the world. These awards certainly make us very proud. They are a reflection of the pride we have been taking in producing a quality wine, now for the past 34 years”, shared Charles-Henri Coussergues.
“This year’s Finger Lakes International Wine Competition had the most diverse international group of judges ever assembled on the East Coast of the U.S. to give the entrants the best possible global palate and global opinion,” said Peter Parts, the competition founder.
Award-winning wines will be featured at several public events following the competition. The FLIWC official Gala itself attracts more than 500 wine aficionados and collectors from around the world.
